
Diving started in 1924 and has not changed since. It is an art of jumping from a raised board into a pool below while performing tricks in the air.

Rules
Body Positions
- Straight: Body completely straight, legs together, toes pointed, arms raised above head or along side.
- Tuck: Knees bent up under chin, quadriceps against their torso, feet and knees together, and toes pointed.
- Pike: Hips tightly bent; legs straight, feet together, toes pointed, arms along side, held out to the sides, or under calves/thighs.
- Free: Free movement along with a straight, tuck, or pike.
Dives
- Forward dive: Facing forward towards water. When in the air, rotate towards the water.
- Backward dive: Back toward water. When in the air, rotate towards the water.
- Reverse: Facing toward water, but when you perform the dive, they rotate toward the platform or spring board.
- Inward: Back to water. When performing dive, rotate toward spring board or platform.
- Handstand / Armstand: Dive begins with a handstand at the end of the platform (not spring board). Handstand must be held for five seconds.
- Twisting: A diver may add a twist to any of the previous dives.
